For the father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth”. The greatest desire of God since creation has been to raise for Himself a people of worship. God, the father seeks worshippers who will draw close to Him so that he can draw close to them in intimate fellowship. A people dedicated to worshipping Him only. He seeks true worshippers among whom He can share fellowship and manifest his presence. In John 4:23-24, the Lord Jesus Christ declared in earnest that “the hour cometh and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the father in Spirit and in truth. For the father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth”. What a vision so divine? I believe that this sums up God’s eternal heart cry. It spells out His divine goal:     - To take His rightful place as King and Lord in the hearts of all true worshippers.     - That His people called and chose, shall build Him a throne in their hearts, enthroning.     - Him as the sole object of worship. It is my fervent belief that ever than anytime before, God’s desire to “inhabit” the praises of his people is greater and most intense. We are in the days of “the latter rain,” the period that climaxes the times of restoration of all things (Acts 3.20:21). We are being ushered into the very Fullness of God’s manifest presence to experience His awesome Divine power and to reveal in His Glory: “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2: 14).” The time “to walk” in the knowledge of the glory of the Lord is Now. God is returning His church to the Order of Praise and Worship that brings breakthroughs and victories in all areas of life. When we worship God in Spirit and in truth, we come face to face with our destinies. We move from obsession to reality. True worship is the highest function of man. Man was created in God’s own image and likeness, made a lower than angels and crowned with glory and honor (Psalm 8: 4-6). At creation, God put within the care of our very being, all that is needed to ascribe worship onto Him. Our very design and nature conditions us to be worshippers. The spirit of man has within him an inherent capacity to be drawn towards an object of worship greater than oneself. Until a man worships God the true way, he/she becomes disillusioned and fails to “fathom what God has done from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This makes worship very crucial and a must for every human being. Worship is the ultimate and the highest function of the Spirit of man. And worship is molded with eternity because worship has its source from God Himself, the eternal and self-existing one….to be cont’d.   By Rev. If Prayer is the rail on which God’s locomotive moves, then fasting is the lubricating oil that makes it easier for the rails to move at great speed. Fasting accelerates the movement of the train of God. There are somethings that God will not do unless the prayer of his children is accompanied by fasting.
